Opinions on Furch guitars
Dear friends,
What's your opinion on Furch guitars?
I mean it's consistency, finish, neck joint, neck profile and sound spectrum.
I'm considering the G24SR and the correspondent model on the new Orange series but there's no dealer here.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me
Best regards,
Pedro

Re: Opinions on Furch guitars
Hi Pedro,
I have two Furch- Guitars : a D 23 CR (Dreadnaught with Cedar top) for several years and a Furch Baritone 20 ( Spruce top, mahogany back & sides) since one year now. I´m very satisfied with both of them, even considering the moderate price and the good value they have.
If you think about buying a good "workhorse" quality instrument you will not fail with a Furch Guitar. I must admit that I don´t know their actual brandnew product line.
Best regards,
tbrenner

Re: Opinions on Furch guitars
I have two Furch-Guitars. The build quality is excellent. The sound is very good. They have a very fine bass strong and round. The trebles are a little harsh. They have a very precise and articulate tone. Think between Martin and Taylor but nearer to Martin since the bass is better than Taylor. The necks are on the thicker side but not as hefty as Gibsons.

Many thanks, Mischkin!
I'm thinking on Furch as an alternative to Taylor, too.

The new product lines (some? all?) seem to incorporate a new neck design, which looks very interesting.tbrenner hat geschrieben:I must admit that I don´t know their actual brandnew product line.
Re: Opinions on Furch guitars
I'm meaning their new color series. I think the finish is different, as far as I know.
Re: Opinions on Furch guitars
I've "only" got one from the old vintage series, a 00M34 SR. Stellar guitar. The sound has got a lot of midrange with a beautiful sparkle on the top, not too obtrusive. Since you asked about the finish specifically, this one is immaculate. It's Furch's vintage finish which looks a bit broken in without having relic-like scratches and all that. You seem to be looking for a guitar from Furchs more modern line, so all this probably won't help you aside from the fact that they bild terrific guitars in every respect.
When it comes to luck, you make your own.
Re: Opinions on Furch guitars
I also had a guitar from the vintage series, a 12-fret mahogani dreadnought, a D-32 SM. Fit, finish and workmanship were fine, and it played really well.
The sound was nice for fingerstyle, but for my taste, it lacked a bit in basses for flatpicking rhythm guitar, where you really want to feel the bass notes.
Fingerstyle
Flatpicking
Sounds a bit thin, though I used a thick pick.
So I finally sold it, although it certainly was a looker.

Build Quality of Furch guitars is very good and they play very well. Their sound is also very nice. We never had Furch in our shop I didn't like.
