Am 29.9. (einen Tag vor seinem Konzert) gibt Steve James (USA) einen Master-Workshop Bottleneck & Bluesgitarre.

Bringt gerne mit: Akustische Gitarre, Schreibzeug, Slide (Bottleneck), Capo, Stimmgerät. Notenkenntnisse werden nicht vorausgesetzt. Empfehlenswert wäre es, ein Aufnahmegerät zur Aufzeichnung der einzelnen Stücke mitzubringen, ich werde den Workshop aber aufnehmen und filmen und dann für die Teilnehmer zum Download bereitstellen.
Die Teilnehmerzahl ist auf maximal 20 Personen begrenzt.

ROOTS/BLUES GUITAR TOOL BOX with Steve James (2 hours)
This “hands-on” workshop will concentrate on melodic fingerstyle and slide guitar arrangements that use techniques and tunings, harmonic and rhythmic devices essential to the blues sound. Steve will start the session by demonstrating a variety of guitar pieces, both classic and original, and answering preliminary questions.
The main part of the program will be devoted to a detailed “break down” of a couple of these themes with the whole group playing as they learn them. The workshop will conclude with more “Q and A”, plus a review demonstration for those who would like to turn on their sound recording devices. Some tab/handouts will be supplied. Bring a guitar, accessories and a notebook.
STEVE JAMES concludes a month long European tour with this workshop in Ratingen. The Austin-based singer and instrumentalist is known world-wide for his live performances and numerous recordings. His original synthesis of roots blues and country styles is based in no small part on early experiences meeting and playing with icons like Furry Lewis and Sam McGee...and he has since performed with a slate of artists ranging from Howard Armstrong to Bo Diddley.
