The global climate crisis is the greatest challenge that humanity will ever face, and we are within a few years of the effects of global warming being irreversible. As Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish climate activist said in a speech earlier this year, “Either we choose to go on as a civilisation, or we don’t”. The choice really is that simple, and I hope that the sale of these guitars will help ClientEarth in their cause to use the law to bring about real change.
We need a civilised world that goes on for all our grandchildren and beyond in which these guitars can be played and songs can be sung.

Es gab am Vortag der Auktion auch eine kleine "Videobotschaft" von ihm zu der Angelegenheit.
Ist doch cool wenn Menschen über diese Aktion etwas "spenden".
Eine Gitarre zu haben ist besser als eine Gitarre zu brauchen.
Eine Martin D-35 von 1969 brachte immerhin noch 1.095.000,- Dollar. Ersteigert wurden die Strat und die Martin von dem amerikanischen Milliardär und Gitarrensammler Jim Irsay, Unternehmer und Besitzer der Indiana Colts. Irsay ist insbesondere an Gitarren aus dem vormaligen Besitz namhafter Gitarristen interessiert. So finden sich in seiner Sammlung auch mehrere Gitarren von George Harrison, Les Pauls 1954er Black Beauty und Jerry Garcias legendäre "Tiger".

....eine 37er Martin 000 von Johnny Cash wäre auch geil. Ungefähr die gleiche Summe werde ich im nächsten Jahr vielleicht für KAG-Beiträge abdrücken müssen.
